Catherine Neylan

Catherine Neylan is a student at the DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama where she studies singing with Toni Walsh.

From an early age Catherine has been involved in film, stage and musical productions. As a child she had a role in the Oscar nominated In the Name of the Father starring Daniel Day Lewis. She was a member of the National Children's Choir and the Park Singers led by Sean Cramer.

Catherine has been involved in musical theatre for many years and has starred in several amateur productions including The Yeomen of the Guard, Gigi, Guys and Dolls, The Gondoliers Oklahoma! and The Wizard of Oz.

She has won many awards in feiseana around the country including the Ford Taylor Prize in this years Siemens Feis Ceoil for best Gilbert and Sullivan performance. She also won 1st prize in the Female Voice Repertoire competiton (Ballymena Music Festival 2007)and was awarded the Most Promising Young Voice in the same competition.

Catherine is a member of the Dublin Gospel Choir and has performed with the likes of Rod Stewart and Paddy Casey. She also performed at this years Electric Picnic in Stradbally alongside artists such as Bjork and LCD Sound System. She has a keen interest in all aspects of music including Opera, Traditional Irish and Gospel and is delighted to be taking part in Celtic Woman A New Journey.
