Niall McGrath

Niall is a native of Dublin. He began singing as a boy soprano with the Tallaght boy's choir where he held the position of Head Choirister. In 2003, Niall graduated with a BA (mus) Hons from the National University of Ireland, Maynooth. Niall currently studies singing with Collette McGahon.


Niall has performed solo parts in Handel's Messiah, Mozart's Requiem and Coronation, Rossini's Petite Messa Solennelle and Durafle Cum Iublio Mass to name a few.

In recent years, Niall has been a regular performer with Opera Ireland in the Spring and Winter seasons. Niall has been with Celtic Woman since February 2006.

What was the first record to send a shiver down your spine?
U2's Joshua Tree

Who/ what has been the biggest influence on your career?
My Father. He was also in the Music Business when he was younger and always encouraged us to pick up musical instruments or sing and just get involved in music

What was your first professional gig/show?
Singing at a wedding when in was 8

What was your worst job ever and why?
Working in a fruit and veg shop. It was really tedious and just wasn't what I wanted to be doing

What achievement are you most proud of?
Graduating from University

What has been you favourite Celtic Woman moment?
Our first ever performance at Red Rocks. It was incredible
